We welcomed a very bright and lively speaker, Anna Roberts, to our Club meeting on 13 April. Anna is Manager of Enliven Huntleigh in Karori. She has been in the Enliven Care Group for some 14 years training as a nurse and working her way up through managerial ranks. She really enjoys heading the team at Huntleigh and her personality shows her enthusiasm for her work with her fellow staff and volunteers. They have 32 independent and serviced one to 2 bedroom apartments at Huntleigh, with a multicultural workforce.  There are 14 Enliven homes administered through Presbyterian Church Support Services in the lower North Island, with a total of 1,000 employees, 63 staff being employed at Huntleigh Karori.

Anna gave us a lovely expression about life at a retirement and care facility. “Here is where love resides, memories are created , friends always belong and laughter never ends”. Anna certainly had all beams and laughter in her presentation which by all accounts has endeared her to her carers and staff. Apart from standard activities at Huntleigh, like other Retirement and Care Villages, they celebrate special events and endeavour to engage all those those in care for in their arranged activities.

Anna welcomed support from Rotary including interest in helping in volunteer capacities.
