Just under 30 attended our Christmas event at the Wellesley Boutique Hotel on 10 December with a highlight being the awarding of a Paul Harris Fellowship to Mark Wood, formerly in the Rotary Club of Wellington and for the past two years in our Club. Mark did a great job managing our 40th anniversary celebrations and publication earlier in the year. He had earlier served Rotary in the Pacific helping reconstruction work in Tonga and Fiji following devastating hurricane damage some years ago. Mark was highly respected by local communities for the work he undertook at that time. He is proving a very active member in our club and has just returned from several months in Thailand.

Mark is pictured (centre) with Acting President David following receipt of his PHF.

Pierre Lamain (right) entertained us with lovely Italian and other music after our main  course and came back for us to join in post desert and coffee with some Christmas carol singing.

In all it was a very enjoyable night.
