With representatives from a number of clubs present at our breakfast meeting and with a wealth of experience working on projects in Zealandia it was very fitting that Dr Danielle Shanahan, Zealandia’s new CE was our guest speaker. Danielle was delighted to have a Rotary audience for one of her first addresses in her new role. Outlining her career to date, in Australia and in New Zealand on a wide variety of ecological projects, on recent developments at Zealandia and in the Kaiwharawhara catchment area, she quickly showed us her skills and ability to reach out, to build on past success and to be at the cutting edge of change going into the future.
She had some powerful language outlining her management vision, being nimble, being flexible, building a platform for innovation, tackling new challenges and picking projects carefully to enhance a place of natural beauty and international respect.
Danielle is keen to talk further to service groups to partner Zealandia on future projects.
