The Karori Baptist Church was overflowing for the Local Body Election meeting on 19 September organised by the Karori Resident’s Association and Karori Rotary Club. The audience heard candidates for Mayor, Onslow Western Ward, the new Maori Ward and Regional Council city constituency. The Karori meeting, one of many across the city heard wide ranging views on improving the city, and building cooperation to address the city’s problems and  challenges.

As expected, the meeting was not short of differing opinions and approaches but as many candidates said on departure it was one of the best meetings held in Wellington. The outcome will be revealed when the ballot papers are opened and counted on Saturday 8th October.
