We welcome to our meeting on Tuesday 23 February at Marsden, Michael Smith, Chief Executive of the Wellington Division of the Cancer Society. The Rotary Club of Karori has worked closely with the Wellington Cancer Society in promoting public cancer education programmes over the years and we look forward to continuing that work later in the year.

Unfortunately, we were forced to postpone a couple of events last week due to Covid restrictions, however, we have been able to reschedule our business breakfast with the deputy Prime Minister, Grant Robertson, to the 18th March, and we will arrange our social event with the Rotary Club of Tawa, a visit to the Wrights Hill Tunnels, later in the year.

We are still going through challenging times with Covid requiring some quick decision making in the interests of health and safety and to give people plenty of notice of changes in plans. Let’s all hope things settle down with the arrival of vaccines so we can finally get on top of this pandemic.
