The stall at the Women’s Lifestyle Expo at the TSB Arena over the weekend of 23 & 24 July was a marvellous opportunity to profile Rotary. Volunteers from all around the District gave their time to talk to people, hand out pamphlets and take contact details from people wanting to know more about joining or supporting Rotary.

Hundreds of people, mainly women, called by the stall over the weekend, lured in by a generous donation of Whittaker’s mini chocolate bars. The level of interest in Rotary, its people, programmes and projects was very pleasing. It was great to connect with so many young women and girls to tell them about the programmes they may benefit from, and how they can give back to their community. About 20 people indicated real interest in joining a club, in suburbs all over the Wellington region, as well as visitors from Auckland and Tauranga.

Our Rotarians’ enthusiasm and passion for their clubs, the Rotary values and their projects really made an impression. We also had a lucky draw with prizes donated by Mitre 10 Mega Kāpiti Road, Fix & Fogg and Steph Dyhrberg of law firm Dyhrberg Drayton Employment Law. Many people indicated they wanted to learn more about Rotary, and everyone who did so will be followed up.
