Hi to you all,

It was good to introduce our ‘blended approach’ to meetings early this month with a light eats and drinks to accompany our discussions on current projects and programmes ahead at our second Club Forum this year. I want to thank PEs Phil Oliver and Allan Frazer, for the preparation they did for this Forum and also leading out in our discussions with local community groups in Karori on how we might act and help in future. More on this in the bulletin.

At the beginning of July, the start of our new Rotary year we will have the opportunity to build our contacts with newly appointed Rotary Community Leader for our group of clubs from Kapiti to Wellington, Port Nicholson Club current President, Tony Robinson. Tony has wide skills and achievements through a long career in Education and community organisations. He has built up respect for his leadership skills and we look forward to working with him over the coming year.

I want to urge all members in the Club to continue their strong personal contributions to The Rotary Foundation with funds due by the end of May. The Board agreed to give $2,000 on top of funds that members provide through centurion membertship and other Foundation giving. We have been to the forefront of Club giving in our District, with the small size of Club membership that we presently have.

Over the next few weeks we have an interesting programme for members and friends of our Club, with Roger Blakeley and Jo Douglas speaking on carbon zero initiatives at our dinner meeting next Tuesday 28 May, with Dani Lim speaking on Brasilia on 11 June and further out in July, our next business breakfast at the Wellington Club, and changeover dinner on 6 July.

So there is plenty happening. See you all Tuesday.

Regards
President Jay
