Things just seem to get busier and busier as we edge close to the end of a Rotary year. We can all look forward to a fun evening wth the Mt Victoria Club at The Arborist. We'll be hosted by President Carol Green and her members on Tuesday 8 June. Details elsewhere in this bulletin, but don't forget to advise Doug Langford of your intentions. I hope you will join me for this experience. We were delighted to host Carol and Rotary friends last year for our Christmas function, so we are pleased to reciprocate this month for some further enjoyment. We note they are a very informal club and may have a few surprises in store for us.

It's been a great pleasure to receive acknowledgement from the school principals that received grants from our Sunshine fund. These grants cement our relationship with the community and are surely money well spent.

Lynda Murray, Krystle Crimmins, David Watt and myself took turns for the Club manning the Rotary centenary exhibition desk  on 21st and 22nd May. My thanks to you all for helping out. This followed the the launch of Mana Tangata People of Action, at the Library in front of a big crowd on 12 May. David had one bright moment shortly before his shift ended on Saturday when a group of Rotary Interacters came through with mentor, PP Gillian Robertson, from Port Nicholson Rotary, DGE Mark Wheeler and AG from Manawatu, Venkatesh Kannan. The photo above is of these future Rotarians.

Preparations for the Quiz Night on Sunday 20 June are continuing well but we still have room for a few more teams. If all goes well we may keep this as a regular fundraising event on our Club calendar.

We also look forward this month to welcoming several managers at Forsyth Barr as our new breakfast business partners to join us for our dinner meeting at Marsden on Tuesday 22 June, so we can learn more about their business and events that we can join forces on.

Our congratulations to our birthday boys in the club this month especially Henk Rood and charter member, Doug Langford, who have turned 85 and Clive Hesketh, also a charter member, who turns 88 later this month. It's great that they remain active members in our Club.

Don't forget to check out our forward events section, there's lots more coming up.

My best wishes to you all, Phil
