At a sponsors event in Karori on 17 November the Community Patrols of New Zealand launched a new patrol vehicle in Karori. Karori Association Chair and Rotarian Andrea Skews was praised for her fund raising efforts in getting their new vehicle on the road. Working independently community patrols still work closely with Police resources.

The Rotary Club of Karori along with many others sponsors including Mitre 10, Karori Auto Services, Professionals Real Estate, the Karori  Business Association, Mobil Karori , Phil Armstrong Creative, Ryman Healthcare, James Speedy Signs and St John's Op Shop helped sponsor the new community vehicle. The community patrol teams have funding support from NZ Police and play a key role in helping to reduce community crime.
