Phil Oliver and Allan Frazer led out a discussion on a future strategy for the Rotary Club of Karori, looking at several options for the Club  and obtaining input from Club members present.

Club members acknowledged that continuation of the status quo without change was not an option and similarly they were not of the view to support a merger, or develop a satellite club at this point, and  that the extreme option of closure was not a pathway that they wished to pursue.

A range of expressions led to a unanimous view that the Club should pursue a ‘blended approach’ going forward, keeping what works well for members, but with some change meeting formats to plan and achieve projects and to substantially step up engagement with community groups to establish what help the community needs and to develop worthy projects that will have a spin off for increased membership.

The Board will consider this strategy and bring back to a further Club Forum early in May for Club endorsement and action.
