RDU over recent issues has featured activities across Rotary Districts in Zone 8. In the latest issue, the focus is on District 9940.

The Free Ambulance Charitable Trust to which we in the Karori Rotary Club are a subscriber was established some years ago by Rotary Clubs in the Greater Wellington area. The purpose of the Trust is to raise funds for Wellington Free Ambulance to assist with the purchase of capital items. Funds have been used for new vehicles and for emergency equipment.

Wellington Free Ambulance is the only free ambulance service in New Zealand with paramedics responding to emergencies 24/7, 365 days a year and offering lifesaving help around 60,000 times a year.

Recent fund raising efforts by Rotary Clubs in our area have included funding for mobile ultrasound equipment to further improve the level of service provided.

The call is out to further support the Wellington Free Ambulance Charitable Trust.
