Next Tuesday we look forward to hearing from our newest member in the Karori Club, Mark Wood. Mark has previously been a member of the Rotary Club of Wellington for 10 years. He has spent a number of years working in Asia and recently returned to New Zealand. He will talk about his career and background in Rotary. Mark has been a regular attendee at Rotary meetings during his working time in Bangkok and will be returning to work there for part of the year when international travel permits. Mark has quickly got into the spirit and activities of our club and is a regular attendee at all our events.

On Tuesday 11 May we will host the principals of the schools in our catchment area to whom we have given grants in past years from our Sunshine fund. We want to acknowledge these schools and our further contributions for 2021 to school needs.  Tania Savage who is principal at Cardinal McKeefry School is not able to join us on that date, but will be our Club speaker at the following meeting on 25 May.

On Wednesday 12 May, Rotary District 9940 will celebrate the launch of Mana Tangata, People of Action. This documents 100 years of Rotary in New Zealand and the Pacific. The launch will take place at a special event to be held at the National Library of New Zealand, Molesworth St from 5.45pm to 8pm. This will be an occasion to recognise the tremendous amount of work that has been put into the centenary book. The launch will also feature an exhibition mounted by Rotary that will later tour New Zealand. For full details see the article later in this bulletin.
