In 2015-16, the Rotary clubs of Wellington and Karori partnered with VSA and the Tindall Foundation to assist with the establishment of a commercial garden in Lalomalava Village on the island of Savaii.
The project would provide employment for villagers and would build skills in a range of areas, from horticulture, sales and marketing, to office administration. The project would also encourage the villagers to learn from the experience of the garden in producing healthy crops to diversify the normal diet.
Funding from the two clubs, plus a District Grant, provided initial working capital, while NZ Aid and the New Zealand High Commission provided funding for capital works and equipment.

On 24 November 2013, the Memorial Park construction site in Wellington was opened to allow members of the public to walk through the 300m long trench that will ultimately carry traffic underground below the Memorial Park.
Rotary Karori saw the opportunity to carry out a collection during the three hours for which the trench was open, with the proceeds to go to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Central Philippines, which caused more than 5700 fatalities and enormous property damage. Club members manned the entrances to the trench under a Rotary banner and collected donations from the hundreds of walkers, many of them families.

In March 2015, a major cyclone struck the islands of Vanuatu. Large numbers of people were displaced, with housing damaged or destroyed and crops lost. Rotary swung into action and despatched 1000 Rotary Emergency Response Kits, which were distributed in hard-hit areas. Each Emergency Response Kit contains basic equipment to allow a family to construct a simple shelter and clothe themselves. The kits also include tools, first aid supplies, and household items.
Rotary Karori contributed funds for several Emergency Response Kits and members of the public donated additional funds when the Club displayed the Kits at the 2015 Karori Karnival.
Rotary also supports ShelterBox, an international disaster relief organisation that provides shelter and lifesaving equipment, to families who have been displaced or made homeless by natural and other disasters.
